Steps

  1. Build a gantry with the linear rail and stepper motors above the water tank.
  2. Mount the waterproof ultrasonic sensor on the gantry facing down into the water.
  3. Program the Arduino to move the sensor in a grid and record distance at each point.
  4. Place objects in the tank and scan them.
  5. Process the distance data into a 2D image in Python or Excel.
  6. Compare the image to the real objects and document the rig for your portfolio.
