Steps

  1. Plan 3 or more layup orientations to compare.
  2. Lay up fiberglass coupons with epoxy, wearing gloves and working with good ventilation.
  3. Let the coupons cure, then weigh and measure each one.
  4. Load-test each coupon to failure on the load cell rig.
  5. Calculate strength-to-weight for each layup.
  6. Chart the comparison and document the study for your portfolio.
